Rich Embury's Bio

Rich Embury was the owner, and man behind the mask atPure Rock Radio(P.R.R. was on-air for 25 Years between May 1st, 1996 and July 1st, 2021). He is the host/presenter of two weekly, live radio shows (and podcasts) calledRich Embury’s R3TR0GR4D3 + Rich Embury’s Power Hour here on KDUB Radio! Rich has 40 years experience in terrestrial and internet radio, Beginning in the 1980s with his high school show on MRCR (Mount Royal Collegiate Radio), where he broke the mold and long restrictions against playing heavy metal on the air there. Fast forward to the mid-1990s with a weekly CFCR 90.5 FM show in Saskatoon, focusing on local indie music of Saskatchewan. Then he went on to create his own internet radio station (originally Radio306.com) in the mid-'90s, at a time when it was much more difficult to do so, and super rare! Plus many years before terrestrial FM and satellite stations put their radio feeds online.


Rich was a board member of the Saskatchewan Original Music Assoc., and broadcast coordinator, where his love for supporting independent, local, and struggling bands took hold.
